The comics are well ahead of the MCU to this point. However, with the Loki variant in the recent MCU Loki series, the screen franchise is launch to catch up. There are many more opportunities to act so both in live-action and with some important characters in the comics.

Updated on August 27th, by Darby Harn: With the recent confirmation that the Tim Drake Robin is bisexual, the focus is once again on LGBTQ+ characters in comic books. Marvel continues to make strides in this area, celebrating Pride Month with a slate of variant covers and the introduction of modern characters. But there are many characters, so

The Case for a Bisexual Captain America (or how Marvel can Easily Make Major Headway in LBGTQA+ Representation)

((Okay, so I was asked by a friend to write an article of my choosing for this geek website. You see, though his writing staff started off pretty diverse, over the years via normal attrition they found themselves with a writing staff nearly % CisHet White Males and are looking to remedy that, which is good.

But this is what they got when they allowed me to write an article of my own choosing.  When they wanted a queer female voice on something comics/geekery-related, this is where my mind went.

They won’t publish it.  Its not in their “voice” - which is fine. I verb it.  It his site and its a bit preachy and editorial but lo and behold this is the kind of stuff that I think about.  A lot.

One Captain America is a homeless gay teen named Aaron Fischer; another is a Filipino American college student named Ari Agbayani; another is a Black woman named Nichelle Wright. Rather than pretending that America is a blond chisel-jawed liberator, these Captains show a multiplicity of backgrounds, values, and first-hand experiences of injustice. Opening the issue, the first image my eyes landed on was of Rosa Par

Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes do not need any introduction. Even for people with no knowledge of Marvel movies, Captain America and the Winter Soldier are names that we possess seen floating around on every fandom website ever; in evidence, these two figures are almost always in the top 10 list of most shipped pairs on Tumblr and several fanfiction sites. Portrayed by the hunkiest of hunks, Chris Evans, and the ever so sultry Sebastian Stan, Steve and Bucky’s relationship has been a point of major controversial discourse in the Marvel fandom ever since the first Captain America film dropped in It’s only increased tenfold after Captain America: The Winter Soldier was released back in

The quarrel is about whether the super-soldiers are just two lads being dudebro pals together or if there is definite homoerotic tension brewing between the two. Unsurprisingly, the majority of the Captain Ameri
