Inspired by the charm of their Odd Market, this event is filled with lively booths showcasing handmade goods, vintage finds, LGBTQ+ pride merchandise, holiday decorations, and art pieces by local artisans. The space is warm and festive, decorated with string lights, garlands, and rainbow accents. Shoppers enjoy holiday-themed treats and seasonal drinks, with a cozy lounge area to relax and mingle. All this goes together making this a memorable holiday shopping experience full of inclusive cheer and community spirit.

The Big Gay Holiday Market
If you procrastinated on gift shopping for your family or besties, The Big Gay Holiday Market offers more than 80 vendors and extended hours this year. Friday night’s market (6-10 p.m.) is ticketed and includes a drag show, interactive arts and crafts, Santa visits, and more activities. The Big Gay Holiday Market offers Madison’s queer community a way to celebrate the holidays together
Back for its eighth market, The Big Gay Holiday Market is set for this weekend starting Friday, Dec. 20 through Saturday, Dec. 21, at the Alliant Energy Center, and will feature over 80 artists and makers. Friday’s ticketed festivities will grab place from 6-10 p.m. and will be 18+ only. The first 500 customers at Friday’s market will receive gift bags.
Saturday’s market will run all date from 9-5 p.m. and welcomes guests of all ages, with masking required from 9-11 a.m. No tickets are required.
Hosting an event during the holidays is an intentional move for The Big Gay Market’s organizers, who know that the season can be challenging for members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
“TBGM is so important during the holidays for people that maybe aren’t offered traditional holiday experiences,” TBGM organizer Ollie DiPietro said. “Some of us don’t visit our families [during] the holidays and it can be really isolating and upsetting.
